Before beginning the Hyperstat Split flashing process, you will need the following components:
- Windows PC with WIU installed
- USB C cable
Step 1: Preparing the Hyperstat Split
If the device being flashed is already installed, ensure that the Pairing Address is recorded so that it can be re-entered after flashing.
If the devices being flashed are not yet installed, remove the Connect Module and Hyperlite from their boxes. Power the Connect Module using 24VAC or 24VDC, and then wire the Hyperlite back board to the Connect Module using the POR port as shown below.
Reattach the Hyperlite front board before turning power on.
Step 2: Connect to the HyperLite
On the Hyperlite, locate the USB-C port along the bottom edge of the device:
Connect to this port from your computer using a USB-C cable.
Next, hold down the Programming Button to the left of the USB-C connector. With this button held down, press and release the Reset Button near the back edge of the HyperLite.
The device should reset, and the screen should remain white - if the 75F logo appears then the Programming Button was not held down properly. This button will need to remain pressed for the duration of the Hyperlite flashing process.
Step 3: Flash the HyperLite
To flash the Hyperlite, a software tool called the Warehouse Installation Utility (WIU) is used. If it is not already open, navigate to the WIU folder in file explorer, then double-click the wiu executable.
At the top, select the "Firmware" tab, then in the Device drop-down, select "HyperLite". No other parameters should need to be changed.
Ensure that the Programming Button is still pressed down on the HyperLite, then click the "Begin Firmware Installation" button on the WIU.
The flashing process should take around a minute, and the output should appear as follows when the process is complete with no errors:
Any errors would require re-doing the flashing process.
At this point, you can unplug the USB cable from the Hyperstat, release the Programming Button, and tap the Reset Button to reset the device. You should see the device startup normally after a few seconds.
You can verify that the firmware update was successful by pressing the middle and right buttons on the Hyperstat simultaneously, then hitting the "next" button to navigate to the "Versions" menu.
Step 4: Connect to the Connect Module
On the Connect Module, locate the USB-C port along the bottom edge of the device:
Connect to this port from your computer using a USB-C cable.
With the device powered on, hold down the Programming Button to the left. With this button held down, press and release the Reset Button on the right.
The device should reset. This button will need to remain pressed for the duration of the Connect Module flashing process.
Step 5: Flash the Connect Module
To flash the Hyperlite, a software tool called the Warehouse Installation Utility (WIU) is used. If it is not already open, navigate to the WIU folder in file explorer, then double-click the wiu executable.
At the top, select the "Firmware" tab, then in the Device drop-down, select "Connect Module". No other parameters should need to be changed.
Ensure that the Programming Button is still pressed down on the Connect Module, then click the "Begin Firmware Installation" button on the WIU.
The flashing process should take around a minute, and the output should appear as follows when the process is complete with no errors:
Any errors would require re-doing the flashing process.
At this point, you can unplug the USB cable from the Connect Module, release the Programming Button, and tap the Reset Button to reset the device. You should see the device startup normally after a few seconds.
You can verify that the firmware update was successful by hitting the rightmost button three times to navigate to the "Version" screen.
