Before beginning the MySense flashing process, you will need the following components:
- Windows PC with WIU installed
- USB C cable
Step 1: Preparing the MySense
If the device being flashed is not yet installed, remove it from the box and connect it to the POR line from a Smart Node.
Step 2: Connect to the MySense
On the MySense, locate the USB-C port and buttons along the bottom edge of the device:
Connect to this port from your computer using a USB-C cable.
Next, hold down the Programming Button to the right of the USB-C connector. With this button held down, press and release the Reset Button to the left of the USB-C connector.
The device should reset, and the screen should remain blank - if the 75F logo appears then the Programming Button was not held down properly. This button will need to remain pressed for the duration of the MySense flashing process.
Step 3: Flash the MySense
To flash the MySense, a software tool called the Warehouse Installation Utility (WIU) is used. If it is not already open, navigate to the WIU folder in file explorer, then double-click the wiu executable.
At the top, select the "Firmware" tab, then in the Device drop-down, select "MySense". No other parameters should need to be changed.
Ensure that the Programming Button is still pressed down on the MySense, then click the "Begin Firmware Installation" button on the WIU.
The flashing process should take around a minute, and the output should appear as follows when the process is complete with no errors:
Any errors would require re-doing the flashing process.
At this point, you can unplug the USB cable from the MySense, release the Programming Button, and tap the Reset Button to reset the device. You should see the device startup normally after a few seconds.
You can verify that the firmware update was successful by pressing the middle and right buttons on the MySense simultaneously, then hitting the "next" button to navigate to the "Versions" menu.
